Mike's Mountain Flying
Welcome to Mike's Mountain Flying, which is located in the heart of the beautiful Bitterroot Valley in western Montana.Within a few
short minutes in any direction you will be flyinginto some of the
wildest and most spectacular backcountrystrips in the Lower 48
states.
Whether you are venturing into the mountains for the first time as a new aviator or are a grizzled backcountry veteran, I am thrilled to share with you what I have learned flying in this wonderful part of the West for many years.
I offer instruction on an introductory or or advanced level in
mountain flying with an emphasis on using your stick and rudder skills to safely operate in rugged terrain in varying weather conditions. We will do this while you are learning new territory, experiencing various unimproved strips in the vast Idaho and Montana backcountry, and polishing your skills for future flights.
You will also enjoy meeting a few of our local pilots, see their aircraft, and benefit from their many hours of backcountry flying. Our small airport is a friendly one and we genuinly welcome our guests.
The possibilities for aviation adventure are endless, and I will arrange our time together to complement your individual interests and experience. One thing remains certain - you will have more fun then you can imagine while flying into some of the most unique and spectacular parts of the world that remain available to us as aviators.
